Orientation

So we had orientation today for our Specialty year. It was cool seeing the first year students and realizing I was in their shoes a year ago, which seems like a lifetime ago now. I'm looking forward to specialty year and learning all the Internal Medicine and Cardiology things. It should prove to be a great year. Our faculty is among the best in the school and I'm glad I chose the specialty I did. Think about it, you can live without parts of almost every organ except your heart. They can't remove a part of your and you'll be fine. A small part of your heart may die during a myocardial infarction but you're not going to be the same. No way, no how. Anyway, keep me honest on this blog and remind me if I get busy and don't post. Keep the flame under my rear....

Department of Labor

Apparently my blog site is blocked by the Department of Labor. I don't know why they would block me and not some other sites but oh well. So to those of you who work for the DOL, sorry you'll miss out. Catch me at home. Hope all is well with everyone.

Slab is back on

Alright, the owners of the Slab are back from Connecticut so the Slab is back in business. Had a busy week this week working in the E.R., going to various doctor and dentist appointments while school is out. Classes start back next week and call me crazy but I'm looking forward to getting back. My dad is up right now and we're going to finish the laundry room with the rest of my break from school. He brought up some of the great beer they sell at Sam's Club down in Atlanta called J.W. Dundee's. Amazing and less than a dollar a beer. That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!

An Evening

Well, it was quite an evening. We finished down (up)grading my Windows Vista to XP. After a fantastic dinner we headed over to the Slab to decompress and do what us Slabbers do. We smoked a cigar each and just enjoyed the quiet, dark, lukewarm weather. John had some sort of CAO and I had a Helix Remix Amaretto. I must admit, it was a good one. I really enjoyed it and will be looking into purchasing some more in the near future. Looking for a mild, sweet cigar to enjoy on occassion. Anyway, The Slab Gentleman's Club is open for membership. Ask me about joining if you're interested. Hope to hear from you!

Technology.....

.....freaking blows. Just got a new computer with Windows Vista on it and let me say that the new technology of Vista blows. Going to have to put XP on the new computer. It's sad when your old technology is better than the new stuff. Luckily I have the help of my neighbor (and owner of the sacred Slab) John Self (.com). He's the man, while I am technologically retarded. Yes, I said retarded. Meaning slow in learning or development, not as in making fun of retarded people. Don't get your panties in a wad. Anyway, this blog should grow to give you a taste of being me and living my life. I hope to be diligent about posting, if not, email me at keith.d.adkins@gmail.com and remind me to get my ass in gear. Enjoy and best wishes.
